After watching a youtube by RibbonsRosesandLace, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OTpBHkQl0A&list=UUw-qm8_XW1XcLNSumegKyHw&index=32
I decided to take her idea and do and altered canvas that then morphed into a Name Sign for my YouTube Channel, instead of using tea theme as Michelle did, I used the gorgeous Coffee Talk collection in my DT package (which works out so much more since I drink coffee from the time my feet hit the floor until I go to bed at night J.
For my “canvas” I used 2 pieces of medium weight chipboard that I used Art Glitter Glue to stick them together, I then used a matte medium to adhere my base paper to. I added squares of different papers from the collection in a faux shadow box look. I hand drew a coffee pot and cut it out of cereal box cardboard, I adhered 2 pieces together, covered, then set about decorating with flat back pearl trim and Martha Stewart lace (from J&S Hobbies and Crafts). I took apart and restrung an old necklace I had to mimic coffee pouring from the spout and attached with a jump ring.
For the coffee mug on the bottom, I wanted it to appear as it was curved away from the canvas, so I used plain cardstock to fashion a flat piece to lay on the canvas and another mug shaped with tabs added to fold under and glue to the flat mug (used scor tape for this). The tabs allowed me to puff up the larger mug and glue the coffee mug to this.
Using my computer, I printed my youtube channel name and adhered to paper from the collection and glue to the bottom of the canvas.
For finishing touches I used trim from Martha Stewart to go around the entire canvas, adhered many of the Prima Flowers from my DT Kit around the canvas, as well as a Prima Butterfly and Tim Holtz Clock Face also from my DT Kit.
I hope you enjoyed what I have created, and thank you for taking the time to stop by and have a look. Till the next project, y’all take care. Teresa
