FAIRY GARDEN DREAM HOUSE
Using a Shadow Box from my stash, I have created a Fairy Garden Dream House. After constructing the shadow box, I primed the edges with black acrylic paint.
I then cut and adhered the papers with a gel medium. I constructed the hinge for the Door (Resin Door and Window Pack: http://jshobbiesandcrafts.com/?product=new-designs-by-shellie-resin-door-and-windows-embellishment-pack
using a strip of paper from the collection. I used the Art Glitter Glue (does not contain glitter) http://jshobbiesandcrafts.com/?product=art-glitter-designer-glue with the Art Glitter Glue Metal Tips: http://jshobbiesandcrafts.com/?product=art-glitter-designer-glue-metal-tips to adhere the door to the hinge as well as the hinge to the box. I used Glossy Accents http://jshobbiesandcrafts.com/?product=glossy-accents-by-ranger to adhere a small bead from my stash as a door knob.
Using a craft knife I removed the frosted window panes ( Resin Door and Window Pack: http://jshobbiesandcrafts.com/?product=new-designs-by-shellie-resin-door-and-windows-embellishment-pack) from the largest window and adhered to the side of the box.
I constructed the ladder using MDF wood pieces from leftover projects and match sticks and primed with cream acrylic paint. I adhered Flat back pearls Art Glitter Glue to the ladder
I then used 3 layers of cereal boxes to construct a base for my project and covered with Coredinations Black Cat: http://jshobbiesandcrafts.com/?product=coredinations-cardstock-value-pack-black-cat
Once this was constructed I then adhered my house to the base with a heavy duty adhesive.
My thoughts during this process was to use anything in my stash to make this look like a Fairy Garden Home, so I used wood spools, candle cups, covered buttons and cabochons to build the mushrooms and table and chairs. I used beads and made a chandelier type dangle in the doorway. And you have to have a light above the dinner table, so I took a tea light and covered with paper from Majestic Morning, adhered hook and loop with Glossy Accents to the tea light and where it was to hang (so it can be taken in/out easily to turn on/off).
Once I had all this done, I started adhering everything to the base and inside the house with both Art Glitter Glue and Glossy Accents, built a flower cluster on the top, then decided I needed grass for the fairies to frolic in and added some moss I had in a drawer forever.
As finishing touches, I used: Wink of Stella: Clear: http://jshobbiesandcrafts.com/?product=wink-of-stella-clear-shimmer-with-no-mess on the fairies and the Ranger Stickles Gilded Gold http://jshobbiesandcrafts.com/?product=stickles-glitter-glue-gilded-gold-0-5-oz on my flowers as well as dotting it throughout the “grass”, and finally added some sequins in the “grass” as well for fairy trails (I don’t use dry glitter ever).
Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you like what I have created, I had loads of fun on this one. See you next project. Teresa.
